OCBA
  • Our final member meeting of the 2020-21 year is next Thursday, May 20, at 5:30 p.m.  Among other things:
    • We will hear from each of our scholarship recipients;
    • We will learn how to make two delicious beverages with special guest Zoe Cantu;

    • We will hear the results of our vote for our next OCBA representative on the LAOC Board of Directors. 
  • Speaking of which, voting is open until 11:59 on May 11 to select the next OCBA representative on the LAOC Board of Directors.
    • Please email the OCBA Gmail account if you need a ballot. 
    • Please remember that LAOC will be unable to fill the position unless we receive a quorum of votes.
  • Voting also is open to approve (or reject) the slate of candidates for next year's OCBA Executive Board.
    • Voting on the slate of candidates will be open until 11:59 p.m. next Tuesday, May 18.
    • Please email the OCBA Gmail account if you need a ballot.
  • Please email the OCBA Gmail account to reserve tickets for the Honkers game with us on the evening of Friday, June 4.
    • Limited tickets are available; two tickets total are available for each OCBA member.
    • Adult beverages, soft drinks, and food are on the OCBA!
  
LAOC
  • Have you registered yet for LAOC's all-day virtual CLE on Thursday, June 24, 2021?
    • The event is entitled "Addressing Trauma in Family Law."
    • Registration is $80 per person and available here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/152573540567.
    • A total of 7.5 CLE credits have been requested, including two Elimination of Bias Credits and one Ethics credit.
    • All proceeds will be donated to LAOC.


Olmsted County Law Library
  • Reminder that there is a free CLE entitled "Reconsidering Criminal Justice after the Death of George Floyd" at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19.
    • The course is being co-hosted by the Ramsey County Law Library and the Ramsey County Bar Association.
    • The co-hosts have requested 1.25 Elimination of bias credits.
    • You can register online at ramseybar.org
  • For those who aren't aware, the Olmsted County Law Library has many different types of materials that may be useful to you in your practice. 
    • Attorneys can check out materials for a short time between our hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
    • We're on the fifth floor of the Government Center in the first room on your left after you exit the elevator.

  • There is a new resource available for those practicing in the area of landlord-tenant law.
    • RentHelpMN is available to both renters and landlords.
    • Applicants may be approved for assistance for up to 15 months, with a possible extension based on need.
