We are excited to announce a representative from the National Institute of Corrections will be in Olmsted County on Wednesday August 29th to share information regarding Pretrial Justice and you are invited to attend one of these presentations.
Who: Any Justice System partners interested in learning more about Pretrial Justice. Olmsted County plans to implement Pretrial Services in 2019 and this will provide some important contextual information related to this new service. When: August 29, 2018 8:30 am – 12:00 pm OR 1 pm – 4:30 pm The presentation will be offered twice on this day please feel free to choose either, no RSVP necessary. Where: Olmsted County Government Center – County Board Room Why: To provide participants with information and background regarding the essential elements of an effective pretrial system. This presentation will be offered by Barbara Hankey, a consultant with NIC, who is currently the Manager of Oakland County (MI) Community Corrections. She has expertise in the area of pretrial services and evidence based practices. Ms. Hankey serves as a member of the National Institute of Corrections Pretrial Executive Network and has served on faculty for the NIC Pretrial Executives Orientation. OCBA will be hosting a forum between the candidates for Olmsted County Attorney. The forum will be September 27, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.
