Olmsted County Bar Association
  • Please mark your calendars for our December Bar meeting at noon on Friday, December 13, at Cameo.
    • The Lourdes choir will provide seasonal entertainment.

Minnesota Judicial Branch

  • The Supreme Court is seeking to fill vacancies for attorney members on the Rules of Criminal Procedure Advisory Committee.  
    • Vacancies are open to prosecuting attorneys and public and private defense attorneys. 
    • The committee meets as needed and is responsible for monitoring the rules and hearing and accepting comments for further changes.  
    • The current vacancies are for three-year terms beginning on January 1, 2020.
    • Applicants interested in appointment should send a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, and a copy of active attorney registration status so as to be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019.

Olmsted County Bar Association
  • Thank you to everyone who attended last Thursday's Bar meeting.  Highlights included:
    • A unanimous final vote to fund two OCBA Academic Scholarships at $1000 each, and
    • Judge Chase's presentation on the Third Judicial District Veterans Court.

Legal Assistance of Olmsted County
  • LAOC has been nominated for a Community Choice Grant from the Rochester Area Foundation!
    • Please consider helping LAOC win this grant by voting for us to receive a $1500 grant.

  • Our next Bar meeting is at 5:30 p.m. next Thursday, November 14, at Five West.  We hope to see you there!
    • Among other things, we'll be taking the second vote on whether to increase the amount of our two annual OCBA scholarships from $500 to $1000.
  • Remember that the courts and other government entities are closed next Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.  Business will resume as usual on Tuesday, November 12.
  • The annual Give to the Max Day campaign is underway!  Early giving began on November 1, with the big finale next Thursday, November 14.
