    • RPU has allocated $750,000 to help Rochester small  business customers with utility bills.
      • The small business financial assistance program was launched in early August with an initial amount of $500,000 to help small businesses with their utility bills. • The CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act enacted on March 27, 2020, has appropriated $150 billion to the Federal Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF), which can be used towards paying customer utility bills that incurred during the period of March 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. Rochester has already received over $8.8 million CRF dollars from the State.
      • In addition to providing assistance to locally owned small businesses including designated funding for women, minority, and veteran owned local businesses (WMBE), RPU also has $187,500 for residential customer financial support through working in conjunction with Olmsted County and Three Rivers Communication Action. To date, there have been 10 applicants approved for assistance totaling almost $7,000.
      • Applications must be submitted for approval by October 16, 2020.
