Minnesota Judicial Branch
  • A message from Ann Basta, Olmsted County District Court Administrator:
·         Starting Monday Oct 14th eReminders will be available statewide.  The news release is available here:
http://mncourts.gov/About-The-Courts/NewsAndAnnouncements/ItemDetail.aspx?id=1807.

·         This is a voluntary service that people may use to receive either a text or email reminder for their hearing date.  To help increase awareness for the public, there will be a number of posters that will hang on the doors of every courtroom and in the lobby areas on the court floors on Friday afternoon to be ready for the launch on Monday. The posters include the website as well as a QR code that will can be used to sign up for the reminders. We also printed business cards that can be handed out to the public and will have them placed at the counters and in the courtrooms so that we can help encourage people to sign up.

·         For those court users that do not have computer access or need assistance, court administration can also help sign them up (and some confidential cases can only be signed up through court staff). While many cases and parties will be eligible for eReminders, it is important to remember that not every case will be eligible.  A list of eligible case types can be found in the eReminder portal, available here: http://www.mncourts.gov/hearing-ereminders

·         For those that do sign up, most cases will get a reminder 3 days prior to their hearing and a second reminder 1 day before. (Exceptions are evictions and adoptions which each only get one reminder.  Evictions will get a reminder 1 day before their hearing and adoptions will receive a reminder 3 days prior to their hearing.)

·         The eReminders will look like this:

Standard Email template:
You have a hearing on {HEARING_DATE} at {HEARING_TIME} at:
{LOCATION_NAME}
{LOCATION_ADDRESS}.
If you have any questions please call {LOCATION_PHONE} or visit: {LOCATION_URL}.
To stop receiving email reminders [[OPTOUT_LINK]]” Replies to this message are not monitored. For more information contact your local courthouse.

Standard Text template:
Court Hearing Reminder.
{LOCATION_NAME}, {HEARING_DATE} at {HEARING_TIME}
Questions? Call {LOCATION_PHONE} or visit {LOCATION_URL}.
Reply STOP to opt out of text reminders.

·         If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Olmsted County Court Administration at 507-206-2400. Thank you.
