Olmsted County Bar Association
  • Thanks to everyone who attended last Thursday's meeting at Five West.  Highlights included:
    • A call for nominees to serve as a member at-large on next year's OCBA Executive Board;
    • A call for nominees to fill two open positions on LAOC's Board of Directors; and
    • A unanimous first vote to donate $8000 to LAOC, with the second vote scheduled for our next meeting.
    • Please email this account if you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for any of the open board positions.
  • Speaking of our next meeting, mark your calendars for the final meeting of the year at 5:30 p.m. on May 23, 2019, at Bleu Duck Kitchen.  The winners of our first annual OCBA Scholarships will be announced and have been invited to join us with their families for dinner.
  • Finally, the LAOC Fundraiser is less than two weeks away.  Please contact Karen Nath if you would like to volunteer the night of the event. 

Olmsted County Law Library

Legal Assistance of Olmsted County
  • Less than two weeks are left until our Night in Monte Carlo at the Mayo Civic Center!  If you are interested in volunteering to set up the event or assist with activities on the night of the event, please contact Karen Nath, karen@laocmn.org, for more information.

Olmsted County Bar Association
  • Our next Bar meeting is at 5:30 p.m. this Thursday, April 25, at Five West Kitchen + Bar. The agenda includes:
    • Call for nominees to serve on next year's OCBA Board,
    • Discussion and vote on whether to change OCBA's role from host to sponsor of the annual fundraiser for LAOC,
    • First vote on the annual donation to LAOC, and
    • Call for nominees to serve as an OCBA representative on the LAOC Board- there are two positions open.

  • Klampe Law Firm has an opening for an attorney interested in an office-sharing arrangement with potential for referrals.  Available space includes one large furnished attorney office, two furnished cubicles for support staff, and generous file storage space.  Shared reception, multiple conference rooms, and a kitchen.  Ample free parking.  Klampe Law Firm is located on the 4th floor of the Olmsted National Bank building located at the intersection of Hwy 14 and West Circle Drive.  The office space was previously occupied by the Doda & McGeeney firm, which has relocated, and may be contacted as a reference for the office share arrangement.  If interested in this opportunity, please contact Andrea Niesen at andrea@klampelawfirm.com.

  • Legal Assistance of Olmsted County currently has an opening for a Volunteer Coordinator.  The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Volunteer Attorney Program, coordinating and managing pro bono clinics, and coordinating other events.  For more information , please contact Karen Nath at karen@laocmn.org or (507) 287-2036.
